Night Weapon Sights for MINIMI (27/01/2005)
From the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence
(HMOD) it was announced that within the framework
of the agreement signed between the HMOD and
Hellenic Defence Systems (HDS) for the local
production of 2,320 Minimi 5.56mm machine
guns, an agreement was achieved with Theon
Sensors for the co-production of the
NS-685 night weapon sight. The
terms of the agreement are highly beneficial
for the Hellenic Government because HDS will
receive substantial work load, accounting
to 50% of the parts of the sight and the unit
price was reduced by 18% with relation to
the previous price offered by Theon Sensors
in the previous purchase of Minimi machine
guns by HDS. On
5 November 2003, Theon
Sensors signed a contract with HDS
for the supply of 762 night weapon sights
for the Minimi machine guns.
